9th December 2011 was indeed the most eventful day, as Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was in Hyderabad to address the principals & teachers of Hyderabad Sahodya Schools Complex. The topic he chose to address the gathering on was ‘Empowering the students with knowledge, ethics & value systems’.

His address was replete with examples of interactive teaching methodologies. He exhorted and persuaded the teachers present to encourage creativity in children and make the class dynamic & creative. He shared examples of how dynamic school systems look like. Some examples included in his speech were – a school that generates confidence in students; a school that generates creativity in students irrespective of whether children belong to art or science; a school that generates righteousness in students and a school that generates value systems that students cherish love for their school.

He further emphasized that education and value system has to be so designed that the righteousness in the heart is developed in each mind as righteous citizens lead to evolution of an ignited society. To achieve a distinctive profile of India, educational institutions and teachers should work together to prepare & generate millions of employment providers rather than employment seekers. Then only we can see India transforming into a developed nation.

By the end of his address the Missile Man of India our Former President had charged & inspired each one of us with immense confidence that all of us left, believing - "I can do it, We can do it, India can do it"
