Week Of Special Learning Needs

Oakridge International School celebrated the week of special learning needs.A guest lecture was organized for children the guest speaker was Ms Manisha Gogte founder Dyslexic Association of Andhra Pradesh.

A seminar on critical issues in Inclusive Education was organized.The chief guest for the occasion was Mr.Mani Shankar, the acclaimed and multi talented film director, prolific writer and popular columnist. An award winning film ‘Anokhi Asha’ by Mr. Mani Shankar on Inclusive Education was screened which was liked by all.

The guest speakers for the seminar were Dr.Usha Naik, Professor of child psychiatry, Dr.Shakila Naidu, Clinical psychologist and Ms. Farida Raj, who spoke about the urgent need for Inclusive Education and integrate special needs students in regular Schools.

There was a special assembly conducted by student volunteers spreading awareness about SPECIAL LEARNING NEEDS.

An open forum was also organized for staff and parents wherein the teaching aspect of the supportive unit was showcased.

The counselling and supportive instruction unit would like to thank students of grade XI [Psychology] for volunteering and making the week a grand success.
