GUEST LECTURE BY DR. NAZIA KHAN

The guest lecture by Dr. Nazia Khan was arranged in MPH on 19.2.13 in connection to our on-going unit of inquiry on human body systems and their working. It was very interesting. We learned mostly about Homeostasis which maintains the balance of our body. We also learned that a group of tissues are called organs and our organs make our body. Talking about the body reminds me of all the diseases. Diseases like cancer and heart attack can cause death. That’s way it is important to maintain right body temperature i.e. 37 degree Celsius. There is another important part of regulating body temperature which is “sweat”. The body itself realizes when to sweat or not, for example, when you are in a hot place your blood vessels get swollen up and starts getting heated up. So maintain the balance, the body let out some heat which makes us sweat. Dr. Nazia patiently answered our endless queries.
I loved the guest lecture. I wish to have more guest lecture like this!- Ankitha ( grade IV F )
