Students’ Reflection: Guest Lecture on Medical Tourism in India

On 31st January 2014, the students of Grade IX IGCSE who opted for Business Studies were enlightened by a presentation on the topic “Medical Tourism”. Dr. Nazia, Medical Officer, Oakridge International School, and Dr. Suneetha Narreddy, MD, ABIM, Infectious Diseases Consultant, Apollo Hospitals, conducted it in great fashion and left the students mesmerized. The presentation was very educating and was well supported by a precise PPT. Both the advantages and disadvantages of Medical Tourism were explained in brief by Dr. Nazia.

We learnt about how people from foreign countries fly in just for a surgery or transplant. Moreover, we learnt about the different types of Medicare that we provide to patients who have come from other countries. Finally, to wrap everything up, Dr. Suneetha Narreddy educated us on her experiences with Medical Tourism.

Overall, it was a great presentation and every student enjoyed it. Ms. Rachna too participated in the session and gave her comments on the topic. Dr. Nazia and Dr. Suneetha Narredy were given their respective tokens of appreciation for their time.
