Grade 2 — A Quenching Summer Treat for CAS

Starting 4th April, the children of Oakridge were in for a surprise. They had their very own lemonade stand set up by students of Grade 2 as a charity event for their season finale of Creativity, Action, Service (CAS). The proceeds of this sale are to go to an orphanage in need.

Starting 3rd April, the children prepared innumerable posters, comic strips, and fliers to advertise the sale.  The excitement just kept building up. Confidently, they walked up to the classes of Grade 6, speaking and informing students about the charity event, which was met with much adoration and a readiness to assist.

Can the parents ever be far behind? Well, not in Oakridge. Packets of Tang, Ice Tea and Glasses kept pouring into the classes. Each day saw two sections set up. The lemonade stands held 3 cool drinks — Orange Tang, Lemon Tang, and Ice Tea — You couldn’t resist a glass or two!! Children were well prepared way in advance for their respective departments like Finance, Marketing & Sales, and Hospitality.

As voiced by Avik Pamarthi and Tanish Sabavat, “This activity taught us how companies and brands work in the real market and how teamwork and togetherness drizzled with empathetic action can solve so many of our problems.”

This sale continued until April 9th. Way to go, kids!!

  1. I know Avik Pamarthi. Five years later, he says "breh" a lot and plays Fortnite.
