Teacher’s Reflection: Grade 6 Visits a Farm

In sync with their exhibition topic ‘Food Adulteration,’ the students of Grade 6 were given a first-hand experience of ‘Adulterated vs. Organic’ food by taking them on a Field Trip to a ‘Farm’. Ms. Shalini pooled her data about farm-fresh food— she gave an interactive presentation comprising a demonstration of her garden and involving the students in cooking their lunch. The little chefs plucked their veggies and the preparation went on full swing for making tacos and salsa salad.

Awareness was created about various toxic chemicals used in the provisions of many food joints. The students were shell-shocked to know some behind-the-scene facts!! The rest of the day was filled with frolic and insight of what we eat. From bread to sauce, everything had a story to tell…

Now, we make more rational choices about cuisine to preserve our health!!
