Counselling session

All the Grade 9 Students with behavioural problems were counselled by the Coordinator V. Anuradha and Ms. Rachna, the student advisor on Tuesday, 29 July.
The students were asked to assemble in a classroom accompanied by few class teachers- Ms. Suhasini, Ms. Sowjanya and Ms. Aparna, who were free during that period. Firstly Ms. Anuradha asked them if they knew the purpose of their meeting. Few students nodded their head and replied it was because of their behavioural concerns.
Then Ms. Anuradha discussed in detail about various problematic issues like talking with disrespect to teachers, disturbing/skipping the classes, abusing each other on social networking sites, indulging in fights, bullying in the bus, vandalism…etc. The teachers also shared the unruly behaviour of the students at times.
She also warned them of the consequences   and also stated that Grade 9 and 10 are very crucial years as their performance in scholastic and co-scholastic areas are reflected in their Grade X certificate issued by the CBSE Board. The co-scholastic areas also reflect the grades of each student for value towards peers, teachers and environment which is very important not only  for higher studies but in life too.
Later Ms. Rachna concluded by reiterating the importance of discipline in all spheres of life and how to overcome any behavioural problem through counselling sessions with her. She also mentioned about how she counselled them on various issues and found a change in their attitude. She also emphasised that students tend to do such things to seek attention for a wrong purpose, instead do something constructive which can be applauded by one and all.
