Independence day celebration – grade 1

India got its freedom in the year 1947, Mr. Jawaharlal Nehru said “At the stroke of midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom”. A big salute to our National heroes like Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Chandra Shekhar Azzad, Mahatma Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose and others leaders whose sacrifice is the result of an independent nation today. Today we are the largest democratic country in the world. Our strength is to find unity in diversity.
Every citizen of our country can do their bit to appreciate and respect the sacrifice of the brave men who laid their lives to get us freedom.  At Oakridge we strive to prepare our students to be the well-educated citizens of tomorrow and lead our country to a brighter future.
This special week saw the spirit of patriotism in the little ones of grade 1, they proudly sang songs like “Vande Mataram”, “Nanha munna rahi hu” and many more. Take a look…
